In 1976, this magazine began with the idea of using Popeye as its symbol — “strong, kind, and the very embodiment of health.”
In 2026, POPEYE celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The first commemorative issue marks the occasion with the magazine’s beloved annual edition dedicated to couples and romance.
An essential character in the original comic is Olive, Popeye’s girlfriend. Popeye has always cared deeply for her. Though clumsy and often awkward in his efforts, he remains completely devoted to Olive. In some ways, perhaps that feels familiar to all of us.
For the brightest smiles, we prepare with just a little more thought and care than usual, and make the most of everything we want to experience together.
Thank you, Olive — and here’s to many more years together.
